Search engine optimization is a set of strategies, techniques, and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website. By taking advantage of this a website can receive a higher placement in the search results page of the search engine. The most used search engine is Google. However, Bing and Yahoo are other common search engines. Search engine marketing allows for the promotion of websites by increasing their visibility in search engine results through paid advertising. Paid advertising includes Google Ads.
To ensure that you have a good SEO you want quality, well-written, and unique content. This content should be of value to your target audience. If you have a reason to backlink, then be sure to include a quality backlink. However, do not over use backlinks. Another way to better your SEO is through incorporating video and images. Include keywords when creating a post, that is used as a word or phrase that describes the website. They are shortcuts that direct a search to your page. It makes it possible for people to find your website. As the creator you need to predict what keywords a user would type in to find your site.
SEO involves making sure your website is structured in a way that search engines understand. The call to action should be clear and prominent on your site. It important to improve and change your website frequently to optimize these features. If your site is one that wouldn’t change frequently, include a blog and blog at least once a month to have something on your site updating. Most importantly make sure your site is easy to use, this will improve your rating.
I found a video on youtube, titled SEO for Beginners Tutorial – 1 – What is Search Engine Optimization?. For me, this gave a very brief explanation of SEO and helped me to better understand the concept.
Youtube is a very popular search engine. To optimize the success of your channel, upload as frequently as possible. The more you upload the better chance that people will see and subscribe to your channel. Be sure to use tags, descriptions, and titles every time you post a video. Watermark your video with your logo or URL. Always include a call to action such as “subscribe,” “like this video,” or “thumbs up.” Including a unique and eye catching thumbnail will help increase the views on your videos. One of my favorite youtube channels is Tess Christine. She uses eye catching thumbnails, creates unique contact, and high quality videos.
To keep interest of the viewer, keep your videos short. If it goes to long they may become uninterested. Use an interesting and unique thumbnail, because they catch the viewers attention. Allow for comments, ratings, and likes on your videos. Use playlists to increase video views.
